Product Description
Today's tile and stone pieces are larger and more expensive than in years past. Consequently, architects and their clients want the pieces set very close together for that striking "slab look". This requires accurate, chip free cutting performance. The Combi 250VA delivers this performance for the most demanding installations, day after day.spend the time and money to make the right motor. Stainless Steel: Aircraft quality materials make for a rigid and light weight saw which will maintain its finish for years to come. Toughness: The water pan is made of an extremely strong thermal plastic material, light yet very impact resistant. This pan can take it. Accuracy: The stainless steel construction of the Combi 250V II frame structure ensures a rigid, yet light weight saw. Out of the box it can cut 24" tile or stone to within 1/32", the best in the business. Length of Cut: With 28" of cutting length the Combi 250V II is ready to take on larger size tile and stone projects. The protractor is laser cut-stainless steel, and it is locked in place by a solid aluminum fence - accurately cut angels and diagonals with complete confidence. 45 Degree Miter Cuts: To cut 45 degrees just tilt the cutting head, quick n' sample - no accessory package needed. Innovation: The cam lock stainless steel protractor is the only truly accurate rip guide in the industry. Blade Recommendations: As this saw is very rigid and accurate a high quality blade with a good diamond concentration must be used. If poor quality blades are used they can flex and cause inaccurate cuts. Stand Included: The stand is like the saw, very light and very stable. The feet are rubber so the stand won't slip on or scratch the floor.Imer Combi 250VA Wet Saw Review
First of all let me tell you that I have been a tile setter for over thirty five years. I have owned many tile saws. I bought this saw after seeing it displayed in our local tile supply shop and it looked impressive. It is light weight and has smooth movement on the rails. I liked the included stand and the aluminum construction. After reading some reviews i decided to buy one. That is where the honeymoon ended. The first job i used it on required cutting 1/4 inch off the sides of some 3x12 bull nose. The saw consistently produced a bowed cut. Also it did not track for an even cut. Critical if your going to trim around a shower opening. I spend some time going over the manual describing how to set the tracking. After several attempts I contacted the company for additional help. After several hours of call backs and discussions the company felt that the supplied blade should be replaced by a better one. At my cost! Really? For what this saw costs it should have come with a halfway decent blade. Anyway On the next job i purchased a new porcelain blade. One that has received great reviews. No Joy... The dang thing still wont cut straight and Im finding it has a lack of power after using it the next few days. I made complaints to my supply house that in turned contacted the company that I was very unhappy with this saw and was told that there was nothing they would do. Too late to return it to my supply house. Anyway I used it on a few more jobs thinking I might get used to it but it just got worse. Now the rip fence wont stay square. It uses a bolt to snug it up but when I try to tighten it causes the fence to go out of alignment. Really poor design. Next I am finding that the aluminum vertical brackets and many parts on the tray are starting to corrode. This after only four or five jobs. They use cast aluminum in many places that cant handle water very well. This was a $1300 mistake. Poor support from the company. I took this saw off my truck only after three months and went back to my original Dewalt. I swore to my supply house that i would give bad reviews if Imers would not address my concerns.
