Jet - JWP-15HH: 15-inch Helical Head Planer Review

I bought this planer a couple of months ago for my home shop. Not only am I please with it but a friend of mine who is very meticulous about his machinery and woodwork now brings his wood over to to be planed. He has a Powermatic 15" planer that is about 6 years old and still very good but he prefers to use mine because the finish on the helical head is soo much better than his standard 3 knife head planer, even with new blades. This machine is also very quiet, extremely quiet. It is pretty heavy and it comes with a high price tag but I figured if my wife is going to get after me for a cheaper planer I might as well have her get after me for an expensive one. Not really, she was pretty good about it after the initial shock. The only drawback is that the casters are only one direction the machine cannot be rolled in other directions very easily except for back and forth.
