Metabo DSD 250 10-Inch Bench Grinder Review

I have used a number of grinders during my 40 years as an engineer for a major equipment manufacturer. Most of my experience has been with the excellent Baldor line of industrial 10 or 12 inch grinders. Other grinders have lacked the power for heavy grinding, or the finess for sharpening fine tools, or both. I really did not want to spend $2,000 on a Baldor, so I decidd to try the Metabo. It was delivered on schedule, in a sturdy double box. Assembly was easy, with everything fitting perfectly. I placed a coin on top of the round motor housing and started the motor. The coin did not move, and I did not have to balance the wheels. The 1,800 rpm speed is perfect for sharpening fine tools, and is still fast enough for heavy grinding. This is a great tool and an excellent value.

i use to run the hot water for two minutes to get hot water; and we are in a drought area. I would put the excess water in buckets to water the flowers. After the install I got instant warm water. I call tech support and they told me how to correct the temperature shutoff of the unit and now I get instant hot water.

i think the unit is over prices, but in a dought are,i felt the need to spend the money.

Lite Source LSF-8871PS/WHT Deion 3-Light Arch Floor Lamp, Polished Steel, White Vinyl Shade Review

The lamp looks great. It's very tall, so the lowest light hangs just above head-height (5'10"). The package came with 6 pieces (base, straight part, curved arms, and 3 shades) plus 3 bulbs. Getting the straight part and the arms together was a hassle as I really had to jam the interior wires into the straight part; a very tight fit. I was worried I was doing something wrong... Though putting the lamp together was a fairly obvious process, the instructions were terrible and offered no help, so I just kept jamming the pieces together until they fit. Everything has to be screwed together really tightly in order for the lamp not to stand lop-sided, and to remain sturdy on my floor. Getting a tight fit with the pieces was a bit difficult with one person since the lamp is large and unwieldy. Set up would be much better with a second person to help out.

The packaging was the worst part of this lamp. Lots of Styrofoam that broke off in little pieces everywhere and tons of annoying packaging tape made clean-up a significant part of the process. All told, I spent over an hour putting this lamp together.
